Under EVANDE, a modern and innovative web platform has been created to serve the needs of distant learning for Civil Protection volunteers, Regional and Local Administration staff and local civil protection mechanisms in general. The e-learning system (Coursevo), developed by the Laboratory of Distributed Multimedia Information Systems and Applications of the Technical University of Crete (TUC/MUSIC), implements modern pedagogical approaches and supports blended learning. Experts on the topics of natural induced disasters and education from all partners contributed in the development of courses and educational materials focused on earthquakes, floods, wild fires and EU Civil Protection Policies.

The platform operates in five languages (English, Greek, Spanish, Italian, and Bulgarian), is totally free and offers the opportunity to the trainees to self-evaluate gained knowledge and acquire a certification for the training.
